  17.           This file provides information for Shareware Distributors,
  18.           Disk Vendors BBS sysops and Computer Clubs who wish to
  19.           distribute the Hands On remote control/access package.
  20.  
  21.           This update for Hands On has a number of improvements listed
  22.           in the README.TXT and is easier to "get going" than previous
  23.           releases.  Try it.

  25.           Please, if you are an ASP member vendor tell us that you are
  26.           carrying the product.  Please just tell us when and how, you
  27.           don't have to ask again.  Preferably using internet email at
  28.           vic_williams@mindlink.bc.ca.

  30.           For sample descriptions which you may use to describe the
  31.           product please refer to the Introduction in the HANDS ON
  32.           HO.TXT text file.  The README.TXT has a file listing with
  33.           descriptions.  The FILE_ID.DIZ has an abbreviated BBS oriented
  34.           description.  Of course if you find vendinfo information, you
  35.           might use it to get the information that you need.

  37.           If you obtained a BBS version of the product, but are planning
  38.           to distribute it on diskette, then you should read the
  39.           INSTALL.TXT and setup the installer.  The scheme for a three 5
  40.           1/4" disk distribution is outlined at the end of this
  41.           document.  It includes actual batch files.  If you want to
  42.           distribute a one disk 5 1/4" version, or a BBS equivalent,
  43.           please ask us to help you.

  45.           Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add the product to
  46.           their disk library may do so in accordance with the
  47.           Distribution Restrictions listed below.

  49.           ASP Approved Vendors in good standing are hereby given
  50.           permission to distribute the product.  Please notify P. C.
  51.           Softsmith if you are distributing the product.  Don't ask,
  52.           just inform us, preferably over the internet.  Its a good idea
  53.           to include the version number, just in case you obtained old
  54.           stock.  Of course we can send you updates directly if we know

  64.           that you carry a product.  Hands On has had monthly updates
  65.           since early 1994.

  67.           Other Vendors:  P.C. Softsmith policy is that its products may
  68.           be carried by any vendor that meets or exceeds ASP standards.
  69.           If you 'protect' your customers and software authors to
  70.           ASP-like standards you have permission to carry P.C. Softsmith
  71.           products.  Please inform us if you carry our products.

  75.           The complete list of included files is changing with ongoing
  76.           additions and options.  If you perceive that the set that you
  77.           have 'on hand' is incomplete, please contact us to obtain more
  78.           material and/or complete product suitable for use and
  79.           distribution.

  81.           Additions to the product, such as any product that uses Hands
  82.           On for optional support are welcome.  You may distribute core
  83.           portions of Hands On with its documentation along with your
  84.           product or products that you perceive can benefit from shared
  85.           distribution and use.  Tell us about it.

  87.           No price or other compensation may be charged for selling the
  88.           product without prior arrangement.  However, a distribution
  89.           fee may be charged for the cost of the diskette, shipping and
  90.           handling, as long as the total (per disk) meets industry
  91.           norms.

  94.           You may not list any of our products as "Free software", "PD
  95.           software", or "Public Domain Software".  Shareware is
  96.           "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.

  98.           Please try to avoid distributing outdated software.  Hands On
  99.           is normally upgraded somewhat every month, with copies going
  100.           most frequently onto Compuserve's PCCOM UTILities library.  So
  101.           we consider your '8 month old' copy to be quite capable, but
  102.           not reflecting the current distribution.
